Role of Universal Ethics in Higher Education Teaching

What is ethics in the first place? Human actions with conscience, which lead to greater harmony, peace and happiness  within the individual and the society at large is Ethics. Whether its happiness or misery which one undergoes, is the result of the actions we engage in, which are concomitant in nature with what we seek. All actions, are driven by our thoughts and emotions. Unethical thoughts give rise to actions which in turn result in undesirable results that we see in this world today.

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama has very often emphatically advised the need of universal ethics to be introduced in the modern education system which can greatly benefit the younger generations who will be the leaders of the future nation. The concept of Universal Ethics is also very close to His heart. In order to promote the awareness of this rich concept, the program shall include discussions between teachers and professors from different colleges and universities and interactive sessions participated by college students as well.
