INSPIRING CONVERSATIONS - A TALK SERIES

As part of celebrations for HH’s 90 birth year as the year of compassion, Tibet House is very happy to announce a new talk series called “Inspiring Conversations”.  The idea for this talk series is to connect more people to Nalanda tradition and give some solutions to their problems or answer any questions the audience may have. 

In this talk series Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul La will interact with the anchor of the talk and live audience will be encouraged to ask questions.

The main theme for discussions in this talk series will revolve around “How to Joyfully Sail Through Highs and Lows of Life”. 

The conversation will take place in English with simultaneous translation in various languages.

Anyone is welcome to join (no registration required) to ask questions and interact with Venerable Geshe La and the anchor. Here is a brief bio of Venerable Geshe La

Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul is currently the Director of Tibet House, The Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi. While being assigned with the responsibility of the Directorship of Tibet House, he also gives regular lectures and leads philosophy classes in Tibet House and other places as well. He travels widely within India and abroad to teach Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology, Logic and Practice. He has also worked on several books and currently working on a few upcoming books.

For this series, Rebika Laishram has kindly agreed to be the anchor. Here is her brief bio.

Rebika Laishram is a long-time student of Buddhist philosophy.  She holds a Master’s in Strategic Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is a communications strategist by training and is deeply committed to inclusive storytelling. She is engaged in international development, supporting food systems and climate justice. Currently, she works closely with grassroots farming movements and indigenous communities across the globe, amplifying their voices through communications and storytelling. She enjoys spending time with farmers sharing meals, working on their farms, and listening to their stories.

Dr. Nivedita Chalill is the founder of ARTH, a mental health centre in Mumbai that offers Counselling and Arts Based Therapy for adults dealing with mental health issues. She also runs ‘The Bodhi Tree: Applied Buddhist Psychology’, a part time introductory course to Buddhist Mind Traditions. She stays passionate about learning, and has been student of Nalanda tradition for many years now.
