Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House, New Delhi to commemorate this day Buddha Shakyamuni first turned the Wheel of Dharma by giving the teaching on Four Noble Truths in Sarnath, Varanasi.
Chökhor Düchen is commemorated as one of the most important occasions of the Tibetan Buddhist Calendar. This important day falls on the fourth day of the sixth month in the Tibetan Lunar Calendar, which is Monday, 1st August this year.
