CELEBRATING THE 90TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS HOLINESS THE 14TH DALAI LAMA WITH A PANEL DISCUSSION ON THE “FOUR PRINCIPAL COMMITMENTS” ON SUNDAY, 6TH JULY 2025

Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, will host a special celebration marking the “Year of Compassion” in honour of the 90th Birth Anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

This year-long commemoration pays tribute to His Holiness’s lifelong commitment to nonviolence, universal responsibility, and compassion for all beings. Recognised globally as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and compassion, His Holiness has inspired millions across cultures and religions. The “Year of Compassion” will feature a series of events and initiatives aimed at promoting these core values, encouraging individuals and communities to embody compassion in thought and action.  This celebration is a heartfelt tribute to His Holiness’s profound legacy of Peace, Compassion, and Universal Responsibility. A Special Highlight of the event will be a Panel Discussion on the theme “The Four Principal Commitments of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama,” scheduled from 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM (IST) at Hamco Auditorium, Chinmaya Mission Delhi, Lodhi Road.

The Panel will bring together distinguished speakers and thought leaders from diverse fields who will reflect on each of His Holiness’s four principal commitments: the promotion of human valuesinter-religious harmonythe preservation of Tibetan culture and Buddhism, and reviving the ancient Indian knowledge of mind and emotions in harmony with modern education. Each speaker will offer their unique insights into how these commitments remain deeply relevant in addressing today’s global challenges—be it conflict, inequality, environmental degradation, or emotional well-being.

Following the panel discussion, the programme will continue with a Cultural Performance from 03:45 PM to 04:20 PM (IST), showcasing the rich heritage and artistic expressions that echo the timeless values championed by His Holiness. These performances are not only a celebration of culture but also a reminder of the deep interconnection between inner peace and cultural preservation.

The event will culminate with a brief cake-cutting ceremony, symbolising a collective offering of gratitude and well-wishes for His Holiness’s long life and continued guidance to the world.

Through this gathering, Tibet House New Delhi aspires to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and inspiration—encouraging all participants to carry forward the message of compassion, responsibility, and peace into their communities and daily lives.

Tibet House, the esteemed Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi, is currently inviting applications for the following positions. We are looking for dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team and contribute to our mission of preserving and promoting Tibetan culture and Buddhist philosophy.

1. IT Staff

Job Description:

  • Assist the IT team in creating materials for events and publications, including posters, brochures, booklets, bulletins, and books.
  • Engage in photography and videography tasks.
  • Perform video, audio, and photo editing.
  • Periodically update the website.
  • Provide network and basic software support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BSc. IT / BCA or an equivalent diploma.
  • Prior experience in IT support, particularly in a Windows and Mac environment.
  • Knowledge of designing posters, booklets, etc.
  • Proficiency with Adobe applications.
  • Creative thinking and attention to detail.
  • An interest in Buddhist philosophy is a plus.

Salary & Benefits:

2. Receptionist cum Assistant Publication In-Charge

Job Description:

  • Attend to and welcome visitors.
  • Answer, forward, and screen phone calls.
  • Maintain the reception area.
  • Receive and register all incoming mail.
  • Assist in managing all Tibet House publications, including printing, registration, circulation, stock maintenance, cataloging, and report making.
  • Arrange raw materials and resources for the production of books regularly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Tibetan and English.
  • Detail-oriented and punctual.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Prior exposure to Adobe InDesign is preferred.
  • An interest in Buddhist philosophy is an advantage.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: ₹22,600/- per month.
  • Total Salary after Probation: ₹31,640/- (includes 30% HRA and 10% PF after a six-month probation period).

    Prayer Meet for Successful Knee Treatment for H.H. the Dalai Lama

    Dear Friends,

    As announced by the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness will be traveling to the USA after 20th June 2024 to undergo medical treatment for His Holiness’s knees.

    His Holiness the Dalai Lama serves as a beacon of wisdom and hope for harmony and peace in the world. The law of Karma has it that students’ merit accumulation greatly contributes to the benefit that they obtain from the presence of a holy Buddha-teacher. It is therefore of utmost importance that those who are the beneficiaries of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s presence on this earth, accumulate merit that His Holiness has good health for the benefit of the entire globe and all sentient beings.

    To this end, Tibet House, The Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is honored to host a two-day Global Medicine Buddha (Sadhana) Prayer Service and Tara Sadhana Practice, both offline and online, for the successful knee treatment of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
